When I entered the pleasant-looking room, a gentleman who was - to say the least - not in a particularly good mood rushed towards me (to be honest, it made me feel anxious for a moment) before I realized that I wasn't the subject of his exuberant commitment seemed as he just walked past me grumbling and took a seat at a well-occupied table. As I would later discover, however, he was not a guest but rather a bar attendant, and he gave the impression of a grumpy lighthouse keeper hoping that no one would have the bold idea of speaking to him, which I - and I have to give it to him - I wasn't planning on doing that either, if I hadn't wanted to pay my bill for two beers like an upstanding citizen. If you were to be so daring and allow yourself a thought experiment and imagine that you would conjure up a creative drink behind the counter according to your mood (shaky shaky, mixy mixy), it would probably be bitter, tough and lukewarm. When it came to payment - and he made me wait while talking to friends - the next chapter of sadness followed, which I call, with an expressionistic touch, “The decay of the smile”. When I tried to interrupt his conversation in an elegant yet reserved manner without being aloof, his expressionless look seemed to say to me: “Another paying guest, how original.” It seemed to me as if his body language was almost eloquently conveyed to me to breathe “Go away.” In order not to let the whole thing get too flowery, I handle the payment as follows: when I asked whether payment with “Lunch Check” - a popular means of payment in many places - was possible, I didn't even have to wait for his answer .
