4.5 / 5 (including 0.5 for the view) Ristorante Al Castello offers a stunning view over the sea bay and an elegant, upscale atmosphere with very attentive service. The Calamarata was very good and beautifully presented, though it felt like something was just slightly missing to make it perfect. On the other hand, the Tiramisu dessert was absolutely excellent, as was the coffee. It’s a bit disappointing to see a selection of small beer bottles priced the same as large ones — a practice most mid- to high-end restaurants have already moved away from, as it gives the impression of trying to “make money on drinks at any cost,” when the main focus should really be on the food. Of course, I understand the restaurant’s focus on wine, but still, it’s a minor letdown. The place isn’t particularly family-oriented, but children wouldn’t feel out of place either. The main course for two, with dessert and coffee but without starters, came to around €100, which is rather on the high side (especially off-season) but still acceptable given the overall service and setting. The opening hours listed on Google Maps were somewhat confusing — it showed the restaurant closing in 40 minutes, but fortunately that turned out not to be true. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–40 Vegetarian options: Yes Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge street parking, Paid street parking Parking: Next to castle Kid-friendliness: The place isn’t particularly family-oriented, but children wouldn’t feel out of place either. Wheelchair accessibility: Maybe for the outside seating but was closed out of season

Most disappointing meal we have had in all of Italy. Service was extremely slow, which would have been less of a concern if we had not felt completely ignored from the moment we arrived (with a reservation). The fish that we chose (fresh, with recommendation from the server) for dinner turned out to be flavorless and contained very little edible fish. The gnocchi was also lacking in flavour. All 6 of us were disappointed with the quality of the food, made worse with the lack of service throughout the evening. When we politely mentioned this to the server, he said that they were busy. No comment from the manager or offer to do better "next time" etc. Maybe this was because of our very limited Italian language capabilities?
