I rarely write bad reviews of places, but this one is definitely warranted. So I was walking down the street here in Lapad and came across VENTO, an ultra-modern pierside restaurant right in the middle of the yacht harbor. The reviews for this place were positive, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong. Wrong! After being seated (the best part of this experience as the hostess was friendly and efficient) and waiting a while, my waiter came up behind me and loudly asked what I wanted. This startled the hell outta me, to which he just shrugged & smiled. That gave me a few solid notches down for my rating. I ordered a Chardonnay, Shrimp Tempura, & Pasta Carbonara. Well, I don’t wanna sound like a wine snob or anything, but I didn’t know Eveready Battery Co. had gone into the wine business! Bitter, alkaline, and tasted for all the world like the stainless steel tanks it was most-likely fermented in. The tempura was the best part of the meal, to be sure. Two nice dipping sauces and the prawns were nice & hot! At this point, three guys seated themselves at the table next to me. The waiter (same as mine) served them almost immediately and efficiently. While those guys were waiting for their food, my Carbonara arrived. Looked okay, but they’d messed up the sauce so any remainder of egg whites had thoroughly curdled. Bleah. Then I tasted it. Oh man I consider myself a bit of a Carbonara aficionado (I’ve even nicely recreated Luciano Monosilio’s own godlike recipe!), but this: Oh my God. It had the most pungent, rotting flavor I ever had in any dish I ever ate and this includes natto! I was thinking how the hell the cook was able to even get this to “the pass”, it was so bad. My mind raced with thoughts of what the actual nexus of this rancidity was: Was it the cheese, or worse the EGGS?? And all the while I’m thinking I just gave myself a nice healthy dose of food poisoning. As it stands now, I’m not reacting yet, but I’m definitely keeping tabs on this. The only thing saving me from the flavor of the Carbonara was – in the greatest irony of all – washing it down with the Eveready Chardonnay! I kept an eye on one of the diners next to me as one of them had ordered Carbonara. I could be wrong, but it looked like he was struggling through his dish, too. Then, after ALL this, the guys next to me and I wind up sitting there waiting for the waiter to come back so we could all cash out. Well, the waiter didn’t show up so the three guys took off to find him and pay on the way out. I decided to wait and see how long it would take the waiter to finally figure out I was still waiting for him. I think 30 minutes was the answer when he finally came over not to check on me, but to clean the other guys’ table! He finally brought the payment machine over and then started chatting with me as if I’d just finished the most delightful lunch of my life. Good thing he didn’t show me a tip screen, because there was no way on God’s Green Earth I was doin’ anything THAT stupid! So yeah, Thursdays for lunch on the far patio are a third-degree deal-killer for me. There’s no way I’m coming back to VENTO again after that bullshit! UPDATE: Well, to prove to myself that the Carbonara here is bad, I went down to Old Town, found Ciao Cucina, and ordered their Pasta Carbonara. It was FAN-FREAKIN’-TASTIC!! Redemption is a good thing, y’all! Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

PostovaniZao nam je zbog Vaseg dojma o nasem lokalu u kojj ulazemo ogromnu energiju i znanje u svaki dijelic okusa koji posluzujemoVrativsi kamere i gledajuci da ste doslovno pojeli sve sa pjata koji Vam je posluzen te da nista od navedenog nije istina, te da ste se posluzili Chat Gpt-jem da doslovno unistite dojam hrane naseg restorana, zao nam je sto ovo radite i nadam se da ce te u buducnosti postati bolji covjek jer je ovo jadno i nistavno, te neistinitoNazalost pruzena Vam je mogucnost da besplatno omalovazavate restorane i osoblje na stetu ljudi koji se trude za svoj uspjehGosti koji su do Vas sjedili i narucili indenticnu hranu su dali ocijenu 5To sve govori U Vasem profilu vidim da Vam je profesija omalovazavanje
