We went inside for the chocolate. What we got was so much more. On our 25th anniversary trip to Switzerland, one goal was to find the best chocolate. We stumbled across bonneheure, just on the edge of the Altstadt area of St. Gallen, and it certainly was providential. When we arrived, the owner happened to be there. Even though she was leaving when we arrived, she stepped back into the shop when she realized we don't speak German. And then she welcomed us into her heart. The joy she has for her craft flowed with her words and shone from her eyes as we interacted. We felt like the most important people in the world to her the whole time we were there. Oh, and I almost forgot -- the chocolate itself? The onsite-bean-to-bar magic we experienced was by far the best chocolate we found on our journeys through Switzerland. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
