Disappointing and deceptive experience at Osteria dello Zingaro Today I went to this place for the first time during my lunch break, looking for a quick meal. I was recommended the €15 menu of the day, consisting of ready-made dishes. However, the choice was limited to a roast with potatoes and cotechino with mashed potatoes. I ordered a glass of wine as an extra. When it came to the bill, I was stunned: €31.50. After asking for explanations, the host redid the calculations and the total dropped to €28.50 Despite my disappointment, I paid, but I couldn't accept that a fixed menu for €15 turned into such a high total. The host, instead of reviewing his mistakes, insisted that the bill was correct, claiming that he has been doing this job for years. I had to reiterate that his method is wrong. As a professional used to dealing with the public, I found these policies unacceptable. Since the dawn of time, a fixed-price daily menu should offer pre-established dishes with the advantage of speeding up the service by including bread, water, service, coffee... You can't charge three reheated slices of hospital roast for €15 and then add potatoes, water and everything else to the bill. Shame! I left very disappointed and annoyed. The owner proved to be dishonest, probably thinking of taking advantage of an unfortunate tourist. Unfortunately for him, this time he didn't get lucky. I strongly recommend staying away from this place. Gypsy by name and by nature!!
