The ambience corresponds to a typical tavern. Loud, rustic, sociable, cozy and “warm”. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and freshly prepared (Läberli with Rösti). Points are deducted for: Unfortunately the reservation was entered incorrectly. Luckily it still worked out with our table. The portions were small in our opinion. We were still hungry after the main course. We informed the service about this. The answer was rather brisk: that the quantities are always weighed and have not changed for years. We could order half a portion more (it will be charged). We then decided on dessert. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 60–70 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Actually one of the last beautiful restaurants in Lucerne and it's worth a visit because of the furnishings and ambience. The kitchen does a solid job and the quality is right. There are two stars deducted for the price/performance and the tone. We had Läberli and Pastetli. For most restaurants, one main course is enough to satisfy your hunger. We (two women, one man) were all still hungry after the main course and ordered a large meat platter. We pointed this out to the service and were told that the portions had been the same size for decades. We can order half a portion each again (for a fee, of course). We should just have an appetizer next time. For me personally, it doesn't work if you end up having to order Läberli for around 60 francs in order to be fairly full. The second star goes away for the turbulence during the reservation. We had to ask several times whether the reservation went through. And in the evening itself there was initially some confusion. The tone with the customer is rather rough... All in all, a good restaurant, which has unfortunately lost a bit in recent years (out of 5 stars). A friend told me that Wirtshaus Galliker has the best rosti in Luzerne so I decided to try it. It's very good, no doubt about that, the restaurant is very nice (conveniently located in the city centre) and service was friendly and helpfull. I strongly recommend it if you are nearby.
