Delicious soup, strudel, and hot drinks in a cozy atmosphere on a rainy day. Who I assume is the owner was particularly caring toward my young children who were wet and cranky when we entered, and offered them small toys and coloring. Very attentive and wonderful service! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

When some water from a water bottle spilled on the table, the owner loudly called us out in front of everyone and suggested that it wasn’t normal to bring our own water bottles. That may be true, and we can accept that feedback. But it was terrible service for the owner to confront us that way in front of the entire restaurant. The apple strudel was good, but unfortunately, after this experience, I would not return or recommend this restaurant to others. It’s simply uncomfortable when an owner publicly embarrasses guests. By the way, the water didn’t even make the tablecloth wet. We left no mess at all, which made the owner’s reaction even more frustrating and difficult to understand.

Thank you for your review. I would like to clarify what actually happened.Your group consisted of seven people. Between the seven of you, you ordered three apple strudels and one goulash soup, and no drinks. Instead, you brought your own drinks and consumed them at the table. I initially tolerated this and did not say anything.When water from one of your own bottles was then spilled on the table, I asked you directly not to consume your own drinks in the restaurant. Yes, I was direct, because at that point I felt it was necessary.Bringing and consuming your own drinks in a restaurant is simply not normal practice in Switzerland. As a restaurant owner, I believe it is reasonable to expect guests to respect this.I did not intend to embarrass anyone, but I also do not think it is fair to describe a reasonable request from the restaurant owner as “terrible service.”I am glad that you enjoyed our apple strudel, and I believe it is only fair that future readers of this review also know the full context.
