Ristorante molto bello con servizio ben fatto e molto professionale. Cibo ottimo, la cucina svizzera da loro riesce a stupire anche un italiano... Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: CHFĀ 60ā70

Bel ristorante con un ambiente raffinato e accogliente. Servizio preciso, attento e davvero cortese, cosa sempre piĆ¹ rara! Ottimo lāhamburger della casa, non male anche il cordon bleu anche se me lo aspettavo un po' piĆ¹ grande. Antipasti consigliati. Prezzi in linea con la posizione e la qualitĆ della location. Volkshaus 1914 announces itself before you've even walked through the door. There's something about a building with a year in its name that sets an expectation, and to its credit the inside follows through. Elegant, slightly grand, polished without being cold. The kind of atmosphere that makes a weekend dinner feel like a small occasion without demanding anything from you in return. I went with the Cordon Bleu, which felt like the right call for a place like this. Satisfying, decent portion, well executed. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid in the way that matters. You finish it and feel good about the decision. No complaints. The fries, however, deserve their own sentence. I have eaten a lot of fries in a lot of places, and I'm fairly confident these were the thinnest I have ever encountered in my life. Not bad . Actually quite good, just almost philosophically thin. Like someone looked at a normal fry and asked "but what if less?" Memorable for all the right accidental reasons. Service was professional and friendly, and more importantly things moved at a sensible pace. No long stretches of staring at an empty table wondering if you've been forgotten. It flowed, and that makes a real difference to how a meal actually feels from start to finish. Volkshaus 1914 isn't the kind of place that completely redefines your expectations. But it doesn't need to. It's a beautiful room, a pleasant evening, and a respectable plate of food. Sometimes that's exactly enough.
