Absolutely wonderful experience at Trattoria San Basilio — one of those places that makes your time in Venice even more memorable! First, the service was exceptional. Our waiter was incredibly warm, funny, and genuinely kind. He was constantly joking with us and putting a smile on our faces, and made us feel completely relaxed and welcome. It wasn’t just good service — he really added something special to our evening. We started with the Bruschetta, and it was exactly how bruschetta should be: delicious homemade bread, wonderfully fresh tomatoes, and simple, fresh flavors. For my main course, I had the Scampi e Calamari Fritti, and I absolutely loved it. The seafood was fresh and perfectly fried — light and crispy, not greasy at all, with no taste of old or overused oil. I ordered a salad on the side, and even that stood out because everything was so fresh, especially the lettuce and tomatoes. We also had the Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare and Spaghetti a la Busara, and both were excellent. They were very generous with the seafood — plenty of large, beautiful pieces of seafood and scampi, not the tiny portions you sometimes find in tourist areas. Everyone at our table was extremely happy with their meal. I had an Aperol Spritz and my husband had a beer. Since Venice was extremely hot today, we decided to have our meal inside in the air conditioning. Afterwards, we asked if we could move outside for our second round of drinks. Our waiter immediately said of course and happily arranged it for us. And that turned out to be the perfect ending to the meal. We sat outside with our drinks, enjoying the beautiful waterfront view. The outdoor area is shaded and gets a fantastic breeze, which feels absolutely wonderful on a hot summer day in Venice. Excellent fresh food, generous seafood portions, a beautiful setting, and above all, truly outstanding and memorable service. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely come back. Highly recommended! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30
