Antica trattoria da sempre al top per i suoi piatti della tradizione ( zuppe, paste e carne ,soprattutto la selvaggina) Gestori e personale gentilissimo ,alla sera cenare qua' ha la sua magia ,posto molto romantico e camino sempre acceso. Consigliatissimo Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Simply the best restaurant ever. A unique experience. The food is unbelievably tasty and clearly it is the center of the evening. It is only by reservation and if there is space available. The owner, a cook of superb taste and skill, will greet you around 8pm for dinner and serve you the appetizers with freshly baked bread. Among these are a tuna filled spicy pepper, a pickled onion and a slice of "soppressa Veneta" (typical "salami" of the Veneto region). Yes all in a single piece but a real treat for your taste buds. There are then two first courses. (in autumn you might be lucky and taste the mushroom risotto that will seriously challenge your concepts of "freakishly awesome"... Just the thought gets me salivating). The main course usually consists of the most tender roasted beef you will ever try, but is alternated with other types of meat. Deserts vary but all those I tried were delicious up to "foodgasmic" (the word brings back to memory the mushroom risotto again). Coffee is prepared in a traditional "moka". Just to make it clear, it is not a place with ten waiters and a maitre and whatnot. It is a bubble of reality separated from the rest of the world. The main cook, who is the owner and a charming lady, will cook right there, at the next table. Besides her will be a lady that will help her with serving and that's it. Seeing these delicious dishes prepared next to you with an ease and humility that is simply unbelievable and only more so when you taste them and you simply need to close your eyes and a tiny yummy sound generates by itself. Even if it is not a classical fancy place, it attracts all kind of people and many celebrities. Clearly those that value the substance and not the appearance. In many aspects, Trattoria Filippetto is like going to dinner to your aunt who would happen to be the best cook in the world. Prices between 40-50€, cash only, by reservation only. Try it, you won't regret it and as an advice, when offered extras... Keep in mind there will be more dishes to follow...
