A wonderful dining experience in Zermatt. Restaurant Julen combines the warmth and charm of a traditional Swiss chalet with a polished, high-quality atmosphere. It feels authentically Alpine without ever becoming touristy or kitsch, and the level of service matches the setting perfectly. We had the Shepherdās fondue with lamb, cooked at the table in a rich broth, and it was absolutely delicious. In fact, the broth was so flavorful that after finishing the lamb, I ended up drinking it like a soup. That probably says everything about how much I enjoyed it! We also tried some excellent local Valais wines, including Fendant and Petite Arvine, which complemented the meal beautifully. A special shout-out must go to Duc, who was exceptionally attentive, friendly and patient. He took the time to explain exactly how everything worked and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant is certainly not inexpensive, but considering the quality of the food, atmosphere and service, I found the price completely fair. Definitely one of the best choices we made during our stay in Zermatt, and a place I would happily recommend.
