Pizzeria Tony was a restaurant that seemed less crowded than others in the area, which made me a bit cautious at first. Despite its name, which suggests a focus on pizza, I opted for a pasta dish—a Croatian-style pasta with beef. The dish was fantastic, with a rich garlic flavor that reminded me of pasticada. Both the pasta and the sauce were excellent. My friend chose the shrimp risotto and was very pleased with it; after tasting it myself, I found it to be equally delicious. The service at Pizzeria Tony was quite pleasant. The staff wasn’t overly talkative, but our server was friendly and attentive. However, one aspect that stood out, though not necessarily in a positive way, was the chef’s choice to add balsamic vinegar designs to the plates. Given the high quality of the food, this attempt to appear modern seemed unnecessary and a bit out of place. It didn’t align with the otherwise excellent presentation and felt a little silly, almost detracting from the overall dining experience. As for the atmosphere, Pizzeria Tony isn’t ideally located—nestled between discos and a souvenir market—but it makes up for this with small, thoughtful details like modern oil and vinegar containers on the tables and complimentary bread with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Surprisingly, it was the most affordable restaurant I visited for dinner in Vodice over the past week, and yet, it provided some of the best food I had during my stay. Despite a few quirks in presentation, I would certainly recommend Pizzeria Tony and look forward to returning to try their pizza. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
