We ordered and were given bread and butter to start. We noticed a hair sticking out of one of the three small bread loafs served with a bland truffle infused butter. The waiter was informed of the hair and casually offered to replace it, without an apology or actually acknowledging that there was hair inside the bread.
We ordered 4 appetizers : The zucchini flowers in tempura , yellowtail ( not sure if Yellowtail or amberjack)ceviche, vongole/uni and the prawn skewers.
The zucchini tempura was soggy and under seasoned. The ceviche bland and underwhelming; A ceviche should be exciting, acidic, briney, spicy, the fish firm and succulent... the leche was flat and the fish mealy, probably frozen. Prawn skewers overcooked and bitter. But by far the most confusing dish of the night was the vongole and uni, which seemed like a 9 year olds interpretation of fine dining; confusingly sweet coconut cream, mixed with seafood and strawberries. Bizarre
For mains we ordered 5 dishes: The slow cooked veal, quail, Wellington, octopus and squid. For some reason the veal didn't make it to the table so we ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes for the missing dish.
The squid was crazy salty...almost inedible, unless you happen to be a mountain goat. I requested the same dish with less salt but was told that the squid is not salted at all and that the rest of the squid are equally as salty. Pretty insane... An alternative wasn't offered so I was left to scour the remains of my friends's plates
It is also worth saying that the Wellington was excellent, the veal good and the rest of the mains average or below.
Not a great experience altogether, the prices high, food subpar and the service hostile and inattentive. Very disappointing for a restaurant praised for being top 5 in Zagreb. 2/5
