We had daily breakfast buffet here because it was included in our stay at Radisson Blu. We were happy with the wide variety of options. Looks more like an Asian buffet, rather than a European one which we appreciated. I especially loved the honey comb - yum. We also went for dinner one night and it was just okay. The carbonara was a bit dry but the Filipino chef was very open to feedback. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I realized that I never actually wrote a review about one very special experience we had here back in 2022 - and it definitely deserves to be shared. A few days before our small wedding in Split during the COVID era, we arrived at the hotel with one important mission: to choose the perfect wedding menu. Instead of guessing, my friends and I came up with a slightly crazy idea - we ordered almost everything from the menu so we could taste it all and build the perfect dinner for our wedding. While we were sitting there waiting for the parade of food and wine to arrive, the chef himself came out of the kitchen, curious to see who on earth was ordering half the menu off-season in Podstrana close to Split. After we explained that we were getting married in a few days and were trying to design our wedding dinner, his reaction completely changed the evening. Chef smiled, pulled up a chair, and joined us at the table. What followed was an incredible culinary experience. The chef started guiding us through the dishes, suggesting tweaks, combinations, wine pairings, and even ideas that went beyond what was written on the menu. At one point he laughed and admitted that the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier was anchored nearby and he had been cooking endless amounts of mac & cheese for the crew — so he was absolutely thrilled to finally be creative again. And creative he was. Dish after dish arrived: beautifully presented, fresh, perfectly balanced, and full of flavour. The plating was elegant, the ingredients tasted fantastic, and every course felt like it belonged in a true five-star dining experience. What started as a simple menu tasting turned into one of the most memorable dinners of our lives — full of great food, amazing wine, and genuine human connection. Needless to say, we left knowing our wedding dinner was going to be in very good hands. Now, years later, we recently came back again and naturally we were curious would it still be as good? Fig Leaf is one of the best places in Split to enjoy a magical sunset. The view over the Adriatic is absolutely stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for dinner. We had the Croatian buffet, which offered a variety of local flavors. The standout dish was definitely the seafood stew – hearty, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The risotto, however, was slightly undercooked, and the beef steak was a bit tough, but the overall dining experience was still enjoyable. Service was excellent – attentive, friendly, and welcoming, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. While the food had its ups and downs, the combination of warm service and incredible views makes Fig Leaf a great place to soak in the beauty of Split while sampling Croatian cuisine. Price per person: €50+ Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
