What a view I definitely enjoyed having a drink there. Coffee is tasty, ice creams as well, and the staff is super kind. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €10–20

Without question, the most disappointing dining experience of our entire Lake Como trip. Given the reputation of both the hotel and the restaurant, we arrived with high expectations. Sadly, the experience fell short on nearly every level. Our waiter seemed disengaged throughout the meal, showing little interest in hospitality or the guest experience. We were seated at a table tucked into a corner, leaving the clear impression that non-hotel guests are treated as second-class customers. Every request or comment was met with reluctance rather than warmth and there was a noticeable lack of initiative from the staff all evening. One telling moment: a strong gust of wind repeatedly slammed a nearby door, visibly disturbing guests, yet no one stepped in to address it. The food was acceptable but not memorable and certainly not worth a special boat trip. What turned disappointment into genuine frustration was the handling of a birthday celebration. We had arranged a cake in advance, expecting at least a small acknowledgment. Instead, the cake was set down on the table casually and the server walked away without a smile, a greeting, or even a simple “Happy Birthday.” It felt cold, impersonal and completely at odds with the warmth one would expect from a hospitality establishment of this caliber. Lake Como is home to many exceptional restaurants where service, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality elevate the entire experience. Regrettably, this was not one of them. Honestly, I’m glad we didn’t stay in this hotel our experience at the other hotel we stayed in was extraordinary by comparison. A beautiful setting cannot make up for poor service, a lack of care, and the lingering feeling of being unwelcome. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Dine in
