Also this weekend, Watson and I are investigating gastronomically speaking, in Grignasco. The subject of this evening's investigation is the "Taverna Dal Barton", a place on the outskirts of the town where you can spend the afternoon sipping an aperitif and end the evening with a dinner, this from Wednesday to Saturday while in the midday and early afternoon you will find it always open; on Sundays they are often open with special evenings. The restaurant is in shabby chic style and upon entering you will find the bar counter on your left. The staff is limited, but efficient, courteous and pleasant. In a few moments, after being seated at our table, we are provided with the menu and the wine list: the menu is often renewed also to take into account the vegetables and typical seasonal dishes; a seafood second course is missing, useful given that there are fish-based starters and first courses! The wine list is interesting, not obvious. From the menu I choose the farinata with sweet gorgonzola as a starter while Watson launches into a warm chicken and giardiniera salad; as a first course we take spaghetti with asparagus carbonara and as a second course a pork fillet and sautéed blonde onion with stewed vegetables on the side. I also have a dessert and we both have coffee. We accompany the dinner with mineral water and a bottle of Faragola rosé based on Nero di Troia by Placido Volpone: a real discovery, well served in a bucket with ice. Everything is good and tasty. The bathrooms are tidy and the price is very correct: €84 for 2! If you want to eat well in an informal environment, not have long waits and spend the right amount, the Barton Tavern is the place for you.
