A real tourist trap. I paid 7.20 francs for a single cappuccino, and I was asked to pay in cash even though I didn't have any. The staff were rude and spoke to customers in a disrespectful manner. Definitely not a place I would recommend. Service: 1

Prettiest place I've ever been to. Fairy tale views. Positive energy. Hotel clean staff super friendly and speak multi languages. Food really good. Never went hungry. Hotel is adorable. I loved this place.highly recommend. The lake is picture perfect.very very cold but I had a lovely swim in the mountain fed crystal clear water. Nothing bad to say about any of it. Service: 5

Our stay at Strandhotel was unfortunately very disappointing, especially considering the very high rates charged for the experience provided. The only real highlights were the breathtaking view and the beautiful location, both truly stunning. However, hospitality and service standards were far below what one would reasonably expect from a hotel in this price category. We originally booked a room for 2 adults and 2 small children through Booking.com and the reservation was fully accepted. Upon arrival, however, we were informed that this arrangement was “not possible” and that it was supposedly a Booking.com error. Instead of offering a professional solution or taking responsibility, we were asked to book and pay for an additional room on the spot, which placed us in a very uncomfortable position after a long journey with young children. The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The selection was extremely limited and did not reflect the premium pricing of the hotel. On our second morning, we asked for pancakes for the children and were simply told they were “finished” because of a public holiday and no additional preparation was possible. With proper hotel management and occupancy planning, running out of basic breakfast items, especially during holidays, should not happen. Trying to remain understanding, we then asked for omelets for the children instead, only to be told there would be an additional charge. Requesting a simple warm breakfast option for young children after other items were unavailable should not turn into a discussion about extra fees. Only after we complained was the situation finally handled differently. Overall, while the scenery is undeniably beautiful, the level of hospitality, flexibility, customer care, and overall guest experience did not justify the premium pricing. A stunning view alone cannot compensate for poor service management and a lack of genuine hospitality. Service: 1
