5 Stars for the service of the 2 young ladies serving me today. The atmosphere was great to begin with, the 2 young guests enjoying their drinks inside having a wonderful chat. It all changed within minutes. 1 Star for company management. Remarkable how quick and unexpected a closure of a shop can go. It brought back unpleasant memories of closing up due to a pandemic. Only this time it is a pandemic amongst management so they can at least secure their own financial stability needing to continuosly increase profits to fit in with lifestyles unreachable for a common worker. I had wondered lately, which of the 3 shops would close sooner rather than later, yes, prices are high, but the taste is worth it. I can't help thinking about the food waste in that one shop on Schifflände today. From a customer's point of view, being told to leave the shop immediately, transfer their drinks into take-away cups whilst I was still being served. I should have thought management would have had the decency to at least keep the shop open until cob today, showing a little more discreetness towards consumers and staff for that matter, before posting a QR code in the window with the not, 'we're closed, please visit our other 2 shops nearby'. When googling Starbucks, whilst waiting for the bus, the media in Basel had already announced closure of shops, only no news of when. I suppose, eye witness no. 1 today. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Other Price per person: CHF 1–10

When I came in I asked the worker if they speak English or French she immediately told me that we are not in France and that I should speak German (in Switzerland, where people speak 4 different languages depending of where they live + English as the second language), implying that I am a french imperialist (which I am not, I just dont speak German lol). After that she started to speak about me with her colleague and laughing. I can’t give more than 1 star after that. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
