A Masterclass in Unapologetic Gluttony There are places that try too hard, and then there are places that just fundamentally understand exactly what you need. Picerija Splavar is the latter. You hear "Picerija," and you expect a pie. To be fair, someone in our crew ordered the pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—a proper, honest pie. But if you veer off script, what they drop in front of you is a burger of profound, unapologetic beauty. A glistening, dark-toasted brioche bun barely containing a glorious, messy stack of properly cooked meat, aggressively melted cheese, and the sharp bite of pickles. Flanking this masterpiece are hefty, rustic, herb-dusted potato wedges practically begging to be dragged through a generous cup of pink mayo-based alchemy. The only acceptable way to wash down this kind of honest, caloric salvation? A tall, sweating green bottle of Laško to cut straight through the fat. No pretense. No nonsense.
