We were totally blown away because from the outside it looks quite ordinary, but inside it's a very clean, bright and spacious restaurant with a warm atmosphere more suited to an Alpine village. The food is fantastic and the service is quick and attentive by a team of very experienced staff who make excellent hosts. Even though it was very busy at lunchtime over Easter weekend, the staff were very friendly, professional and warm. It's an excellent place which is well worth the journey. A hidden gem in Basel. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Das Restaurant Spitzwald ist ein typisches Ausflugs/Sonntagsspaziergangerrestaurant. Es stehen sehr viele kostenfreie Parkplätze zur Verfügung und ÖV ist in der Nähe. Als wir dort verweilten gab es sehr viele Gäste mit Hunden, welche willkommen sind.Nun aber zum Essen: Meine Frau war von der Currysuppe ganz begeistert, der gemischte Salat war gut und auch die Hauptspeisen waren gut gewürzt. Vielleicht könnten die Salate, vor allem beim Fitnessteller etwas fantasievoller sein.Bei einem Gourmetlokal oder Hippen Restaurant würde es nicht ganz auf 5 Sterne reichen. Nach dem Spaziergang wird der Hunger schnell, freundlich und lecker gestillt.
