Our stay at Špacapanova hiša was a fantastic, deeply personal boutique experience that we cannot recommend highly enough. The house has a beautiful, intimate size that makes you feel instantly at home, and we enjoyed an absolutely excellent night's sleep in the peaceful accommodations. Nestled in the heart of the stunning Karst region, the location is absolutely idyllic and serves as the perfect base if you want to explore the wonderful surrounding countryside actively. The absolute highlight of our stay was the dinner. We opted for the Extended Culinary Experience, which was an absolute masterclass in hyper-local gastronomy. Every single dish featured pristine, exquisite local ingredients masterfully prepared by the chef. What made it a truly special and unforgettable event was the pairing—we chose the option with all the natural wines from their own production. Tasting such thoughtfully crafted food alongside expressive, natural wines grown right from the surrounding soil added a whole new level of authenticity. From the delicate beef tongue and the flawless trout confit to the rich, free-range Karst lamb and the brilliant brownie with yogurt ice cream, the progression of the menu was spectacular. To top off a perfect stay, a big shout-out goes to the exceptional and extensive breakfast the next morning. The entire spread was wonderfully curated, but the local charcuterie and cured sausage specialties were absolutely mega. It is a rare find where the hospitality, the wine, the food, and the rooms all align so perfectly. A unique gem in Slovenia! Service: 5
