I don’t usually talk about gelato, but this time I will. I think Poreč has the most gelato shops per square kilometer I’ve ever seen, so you really need to choose carefully. I stumbled upon Solo Gelato by accident and immediately realized, just by looking at the texture and creaminess, that it had to be good. I’m no gelato expert, but I’ve been to plenty of shops across Europe, and you know that feeling when you discover a new restaurant that’s genuinely good, just opened, and has low prices to attract customers—you can just tell. That’s exactly how I felt. The price of this gelato is way too low for the taste and quality it delivers. The young woman who runs the shop recently graduated from a gelato school in Milan, and she makes a fresh batch every single day. Their flavors are pretty amazing: salty pistachio, avocado, four different kinds of chocolate I don’t need much to be happy, but her gelato is just so creamy and delicious. Seriously—salty-sweet pistachio gelato? Come on. I’ve never tasted anything so unique in my life. Price per person: €1–5 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
