Schafeck è vicinissimo alla Helvetia auf Reisen statue. I visitatori potranno ordinare filetto americano, fonduta svizzera e fonduta di formaggio esotici in questo ristorante. Potrebbe essere interessante provare l'ottimo caffè. Gli ospiti non amano molto il vino bianco del ristorante Schafeck.
Diversi critici considerano che il personale è piacevole in questo posto. Rimarrai sicuramente contento del veloce servizio. Ottima fonduta, saporita e gustosa, ma unico piatto del posto con unica variante possibile, con o senza aglio. Buona la birra, conto caro per la sola fonduta. Ambiente caratteristico. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 30–40

Schafeck where to start! We were recommended this little gem of a place by our AirBnb host for a traditional Swiss fondue. We went in on the Friday but unfortunately they had a beer festival on and weren’t doing any food. The waitress was very nice & helpful and suggested we book for a later date, she then wrote our reservation down in a calendar book that wouldn’t look out of place in the 1950s. We ventured back to this little Mecca two days later on a wet and windy Monday for our reservation and were greeted by a table already waiting for us. When I tell you Schafeck has character, I don’t down play this. The two tables of locals drinking outside reminded me of a local English pub, (simply by the amount of booze they were putting away). I cannot even describe the interior of this place, it has to be seen to be believed (in a good way) - however the screen showing an AI cat in a bed of cherry blossoms was both, completely out of place, but also somehow felt right. The fondue came and long story short it was amazing. For 25CHF per person it was 10/10 and they weren’t stingy on the bread to go along with. The sheer number of locals who came in and out during our one+ hour visit was fantastic to see and provided us with many people watching opportunities. Even after compiling this review I still feel like I haven’t touched fully upon what a magical place Schafeck is. To fully grasp its atmosphere and style, I recommend you head there yourself, grab a beer and cauldron of hot Swiss cheese, and sit back to enjoy the ride. I’ll leave you with a few things, all the lights have drums as lamp shades, the beer is ‘cheap’ for Basel and there wasn’t a menu in site, I’m not sure if this place even does anything bar fondue and alcohol, but do I care? No. Simply put I loved the place - 10/10 would return again. 5 stars! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 20–30
