I have been to La Spezia many times and have always wondered where the good paninos were! I went back for the first time this year and was walking down from the train station and noticed Sal's. Thank god I went in they have the most delicious paninos I've ever had. The Hammer maybe my favorite sandwich of all time as I don't think there is a better combo than salami & eggplant! I went multiple times during my trip and was able to try almost all the paninos. Here is a pic of the classic Liguerian Caprese with their very social media ready Mangia tiles. The best part is they are on your way to the train station and have to go aperol spritzes! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent sandwiches, made with fresh ingredients. It's next to the train station, so it's the perfect place to get a sandwich to-go and take the train to Cinque Terre. Delicious! Got Tony Soprano - big portion, perfect combination of spiciness of salami, sourness of homemade pickles and taste of fresh salad. Enjoyed my lunch here Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
