After visiting several Michelin-starred restaurants over the past years, I increasingly find myself appreciating the places where the chef is still truly present in the daily experience. Restaurants where the kitchen is driven by a small, dedicated team often leave a far deeper impression on me than those where the chef has become more of a figurehead, disconnected from the actual service, or where four cooks seem responsible for plating a single dish. That is exactly what made my first visit to Rosmarin so memorable. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and effortlessly enhanced by the character of the location itself. What immediately stood out was the authenticity of the experience: the chef and one staff member creating something personal rather than theatrical. Curious questions were answered openly and sympathetically, without a trace of arrogance or self-importance. The concept feels coherent and genuine. The ingredients are carefully sourced from Switzerland, and the menu clearly follows its own philosophy rather than chasing trends or mainstream expectations. Every course felt thoughtful and creative, but most importantly, enjoyable to eat. The dishes were refined without becoming overly intellectual. Even with six courses, the portions felt perfectly satisfying to me. To finish the evening, I was served one of the best espressos I have ever had in a restaurant, a small detail perhaps, but one that perfectly reflected the overall level of care and attention throughout the experience. Knowing that a new menu is created almost every month, I am quite certain this will not be my last visit to Rosmarin.
