As a Portuguese person, since we were stopping in Zurich, I wanted to try some Portuguese food. I ordered the bitoque, while my husband chose the francesinha. Of course, we knew it wouldn’t be exactly the same as the ones you find in the north of Portugal, but we never expected it to be this bad. We left extremely disappointed, especially considering we paid around €100 (84 CHF) for the meal. The staff member who served us was friendly, and the starters (rissóis) were actually quite good. Unfortunately, everything went downhill with the main courses. The francesinha was very poor. The sauce was extremely watery and lacked flavour, and the sandwich was made with chicken instead of beef, which was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. My bitoque was equally disappointing. The rice tasted microwaved, the fries were clearly frozen, and the beef was of very low quality. Several hours later, I was still burping the seasoning from the meat and ended up with stomach issues. This was honestly one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve had in a long time. For the price charged, the quality was simply unacceptable. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I would not recommend this restaurant and would advise others to look elsewhere for Portuguese food. The Restaurant Oliveira is a restaurant that you definitely have to know. The food is always excellent and the service is top notch. The host is always very friendly and in a good mood. I can recommend it to everyone. 5 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
