We had a late lunch in this harbour restaurant in Faoug a beautiful Saturday mid August of 2026. When you arrive after the regular lunch hours you can still chose what you like to eat from a reduced menu. If you believe you can find fish from lake Murten, forget all about it. Besides pike there is both lack of fish and fishermen in and on the lake, so the pike perch is imported from Poland and the perch is from a fish farm inside the Wallis mountains. We had fish and chips made on pike perch, the chips being Freiburger fries, meaning potatoes from the canton of Freiburg and spicing according to a secret formula by the chef. It was all fine and relatively good value for money. The service was provided by a young man studying to become a lawyer who had a decent sense of humour. Recommended!
