We came to this restaurant and asked if they were open — they said yes, but only for outdoor seating. That was fine, it was a beautiful and sunny day. However, I was seated directly under the sun, and it began to burn my face. I kindly asked our waiter, Alfredo, if he could open the sun blinds for some shade. He said he had to ask a table two tables away from us for permission first, which was odd. Instead of explaining the situation — that I was visibly uncomfortable and baking in the sun — he simply asked them if he could lower the blind, with no context. He came back and said, “No, I can’t — they don’t want to.” Meanwhile, he never asked the table next to us, who also happened to be people of African descent like us, if they would mind. The way he handled it felt dismissive and, honestly, gave off profiling energy. Overall, the service from Alfredo was rude and dismissive toward us from the start. We didn’t feel welcomed or respected. Hospitality should never feel selective. Really disappointing experience. Meal type: Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
