While the food was decent and the setting gorgeous, the customer experience was sadly underwhelming, mostly due to the app. The ordering process is done via an app which has some quirks but overall allows you to get your order in. The drinks don’t indicate the volume, which is mostly inconvenient for the non-standard soft drinks. Before paying, the app gives you the option to leave no tip (sad smiley face) or 5-15% tip. In a country where service staff is expected to be paid a living wage, tipping should be fully voluntary and based on quality of service: in a self-service restaurant, it should therefore not be considered inappropriate to not leave a tip when you have not yet received or experienced the quality of the food. Overall, while the food was indeed tasty, almost 30.- per person for one main (no extras) and a soft drink in a self-service should already largely cover staff wages. The food was fantastic, we had crispy fish fingers was very good, friendly service and the atmosphere is really adorable, I recommend anyone who wants to have fun, come to Restaurant Seewen Beach Cheers.
