We have added a breakfast here for the hotel booking , but the choices were limited and not worth a standard for CH22. Yet as we saw some traditional food items such as the Schweizer Agnus and Egliknusperli Valperca, we booked a dinner anyway for its convenience. We were served by two staff whom the younger male was helpful and polite. However , we were greatly disappointed by the elder staff Victor. He had not even maintained basic politeness, and rudely attended to our requests for order and the bill, he always looked annoyed and just walked away after our conversations without confirming nor addressing any further. Food was not satisfactory neither. Ceviche was mixing the tiger milk directly over raw fish and had not sufficiently marinated, which made the fish dull and plain. Beef tartare overly-chopped into paste, losing its chewiness and texture. We asked for medium rare for Angus beef yet it was overcooked, the beef juiciness was nice though. The Valperca was disappointing as it was not aromatic nor flavourful with the cooking method used. Víctor attended our bill and rudely tear off the recipe to us. We then asked the younger male staff for borrowing a knife to our room for fruit-cutting and he spoke with younger male staff in Deutsch for something we didn’t comprehend. But of course was not something pleasant as felt from his tonation. So if you are coming for traditional Swiss dishes, better plan again. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: CHF 90–100

My family had a wonderful experience at Restaurant Freienhof on Christmas Day. It is a reasonably priced culinary experience, especially if you order one of the multiple course options. I ordered the 4 course option and it was incredibly flavorful (along with the amuse bouche). The waiter was knowledgeable about wine pairings for all meals that were ordered as well. This is a very reasonably priced restaurant for the quality and experience that you receive. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: CHF 100+ Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Paid parking garage
