This is a place I used to hang out with as a teenager several years ago, it always a homey and simple place to meet with friends and had fun snacks like hamburgers and french fries but today I had the Nüssler Salat mit Späck und Ei, that's the lamb lettuce with bacon and egg salad, and I was super surprised how delicious and filling and reasonable priced it was. It made for a wonderful late lunch sitting outside in the sun in the middle of November (in Switzerland!), and it felt I'm in the right place at the right time once again. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: CHF 10–20

Chutz is a restaurant in Solothurn, located by the river. While they do serve food, many people seem to stop by just for drinks like coffee, beer, or other beverages. Personally, I haven’t tried the food, so I can’t comment on that. As shown in the photo, we visited on a Friday night and the place wasn’t very busy. We found a free table, but it hadn’t been cleaned. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, we waited over 30 minutes for a waiter to come by. Eventually, one of us had to go inside and ask someone to clean the table and take our order. After that, it still took about 15–20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. In total, we waited almost 50 minutes to an hour from the moment we sat down until we finally got our drinks. On the positive side, the ambient outside is good on sunny and warm days, they accept both cash and card payments, and the prices were reasonable. However, the slow service left a lot to be desired. Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: CHF 10–20
