On the return journey and do a stop in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in Restaurant Brauwerk. Of course brew themselves. The ambience matches the unusual menu. I love it. I have Negonnes with a non-alcoholic grapefruit beer. Yummy. Just enjoying one smoked beer. I had one before White beer foam soup. Great. Main course a tarte flambée. Not big, according to the price, but thick. The tarte flambée was served as finger food. So first burnt your fingers. Not so good. The Thurgau apple turnover is served warm. A small dollop of cream was added to the vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately spray bottle. Unfortunately, I jumped at it straight away and mixed everything up. Blue and currants stuffed with apple compote and a fresh pear sliced. Now the vanilla ice cream runs into the warm apple turnover. Great, modern ambience with open brewing kettles . Unfortunately disappointing service and mediocre food quality . The Brauwerk in St. Gallen is right next to the main train station and is easy to reach . Drivers should drive into the station car park as there are only blue zones all around. The restaurant is a real architectural highlight: ultra-modern, beautifully furnished and with open brewing kettles that create a special atmosphere . As the owner, Schützengarten has really invested well here – the ambience is simply brilliant. Unfortunately the service is not convincing at all. The young, inexperienced service staff were inattentive and made many mistakes: drinks arrived late (10-15 minutes), side dishes were forgotten, orders were delivered incorrectly or were completely lost . Overall, communication was weak and dampened the mood. The quality of the food is also disproportionate to the prices. The entrecôte was neither aromatic nor cooked to the desired degree of doneness. The tartare was bland and one of the worst I've ever eaten. A simpler dish like the Cordon Bleu would probably have fared better here. It's a shame, because the restaurant has great potential with its ambience, but the service and cuisine were saved. Hopefully this will be improved!
