For a chain it’s pretty good. It has the right (traditional) dishes on the menu but they do tune it a bit for western customers eg less Thai basil or fresh herbs, less spicy, or less fish sauce than what I’ve had in Thailand. However, the ingredients are fresh (the fried duck was quite good and did not taste old like in other places). We had noodles with beef (forgot the name, not pad Thai) and the fried duck plus a couple of teas (I appreciated the loose leaf teas!). The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is cool. It can get tricky to find a table during the weekend without a reservation. The price is ok. I would go back again. Restaurant Boo is famous in Basel for great Thai cuisine. The Som Tam is excellent and hard to find in Basel. From my experience in Thailand it should be served with Thai green beans and without carrot. The sauce was so good I drank all of it, sour, sweet, spicy, full of flavor. The chicken cashew (Gai Pad) was good, but the portion was very small and rice was not included, only a few cashew, I expected much more. It should cost 50 % less. Paying 28 CHF for a dish that size of a starter was very disappointing. The Pad Thai was really good, a bit different but great. Overall always a great experience with lovely staff and atmosphere.
