Our visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
1. Reservation Mismanagement – The owner personally called us to confirm a table, but by the time we arrived just minutes later, it had already been given away. We were forced to wait despite her confirmation.
2. Unfriendly and Controlling Attitude of owner– From the beginning, the owner was unfriendly and impatient. We initially wanted to order three dishes, but she insisted in a coercive tone that two dishes were enough for us. In reality, the portions were very small and definitely not sufficient. Later, we realised the reason she refused our order was likely due to the kitchen’s limited capacity to serve more customers.
3. Extreme long service & unfair treatment – We waited over 1 hour with our 3-year-old child, who was getting very hungry, and were served only a starter. Even then, no tableware was provided. We had to wait another 20 minutes before receiving it. During this time, we observed frequent customers arriving after us being served full meals in a very shot time, while we still waiting with nothing on the table.
4. Wrong Order & low quality food – We ordered a curry dish but received the wrong dish with no curry sauce and very few vegetables. From portion size to taste, it was absolutely not worth the price. Many other Vietnamese restaurants serve far more authentic and delicious food than this one.
5. Unprofessional rude behaviour – The most shocking part of the experience was that the owner never once apologised for any of the issues we faced. Instead, when we went to pay, she rudely asked us, “Why are you angry?”with a dismissive remark. After discussion the owner kept lying, first saying there was a problem in the kitchen, then claiming we hadn’t finished our starters that was why our main course wasn’t served. In reality, we went to the kitchen and we saw the kitchen hadn’t even prepared our main course, yet they were already serving other latecomers. Her French is very poor, can’t speak English and she has difficulty expressing accurately whether communicating on the phone or in person.
6. Payment Problems – The owner did not explain why credit card payments were not accepted and forced us to pay in cash. When we left to withdraw money from the bank, she even assumed we were refusing to pay and made a rude gesture to drive us away.
Summary:
This was the worst Vietnamese restaurant experience we have ever had across Europe. The service was disorganised, the food was poor quality, and the owner’s behaviour was extremely rude. We strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant if you are looking for a pleasant dining experience.
