NB! Not part of Le Meridien! This restaurant has turned into a disaster!! And it is such a shame, it was amazing! But now it is dusty interior, dirty table cloths, greasy/oily smell and waiters dusting off the tables with bare hands(!), old crumbs on cloth and table... the food was so bad... I made better food at 15 years old. Pasta was chewy and undercooked. The risotto was completely dry, no taste and crunchy to eat... no broth was used. The pasta, risotto and meat were so bland, it was like no seasoning or umami was added. Only option was to add huge amounts of olive oil (from a leaky canister) and a lot of salt to make it edible... I visited last year and it was tasty and amazing! The young waiter Stanislav was amazing! So funny, entertaining and knowledgeable on food and wine. The current young waiter just put the water bottle on the table without opening or serving (nor flipping our glasses). Minimum quality and amount of service to pass as an establishment. 0 tip given in return Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–25 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

**UPDATED** So we went to Porto Spalata a year ago and we loved it, except that the mosquitoes were brutal. So we decided to go back and my husband preferred the very same meal, the Tagliata that he loved so much last time. This time he got something totally different, a whole, unsliced steak with huge, crazy, thick cuts is Parm on top and then frozen fries. He was so disappointed, especially because it was 40 Euro! I ordered grilled veggies with chicken breast in gorgonzola and it came all mixed together and it was a salt bomb, I couldn't even finish it. The bread wasn't at all fresh and artisan like last time and it was old this time and we didn't eat any of it. On top of that, the mosquitoes were still there and I've got bites on my legs again! The wait staff was very low energy and not polite at all. They never checked on us and we didn't feel welcome at all. Oh yeah, it's open air so it was hot! We had planned a special night out and we were terribly disappointed by Porto Spalato! Btw, our food was almost €70 and we feel like we've been ripped off. Never again! ------- One of our new favorites!! The food was great! The service was excellent! The atmosphere was wonderful, just remember to bring the mosquito spray because it's close to the water and mosquitoes live in nature with us. One of our top 5 places.
