We wanted to have a leisurely lunch and toast to Christmas. It's a good thing there are two restaurant parts in the Romantica, because the first one would have been too loud for us. We were given a table in the back, which already had tables laid out and looked invitingly bright. The waiter was friendly but too aggressively communicative for our taste. He had no knowledge of the open wines. When we studied the menu, we realized that not a single side dish was included with the main courses. For an extra CHF 6.90 you can choose from various side dishes. Sorry, but at least one side dish is a must! Be it the Cordon Bleu for 34.- or the entrecote for CHF >40. Since we don't support this scam, we ordered pasta, half a Mistkratzerli and the shrimp cocktail. I can only praise the latter and served in a pizza bread - creative. Spaghetti Carbonara was okay and the portion was sufficient. Unfortunately, too much sauce is served with the chicken, so it floats in it and doesn't stay crispy. Here it would be better to serve the sauce (it doesn't cost extra) separately..? All in all, it worked out. But considering that there are probably three Italian restaurants on Klosterplatz within five minutes, you wonder whether a cheaper one can't keep up. Because you can't see anything of the monastery in the back part of the restaurant. Parking: There are many paid parking spaces on the monastery square, but they are mostly occupied. Wheelchair accessibility: All I saw was a staircase going up. I don't know how easy it is to get into the restaurant with strollers and wheelchairs.
