The Paradiesli was the starting point of my incredible hike alongside Lake Walensee on a stunningly beautiful, sunny fall day. The goal was to hike to the boat departure dock and then take it to Murg. On the way I detoured to see the waterfalls and came across another set of falls unexpectedly- what a treat! The hike is only up or down, very little else, and I loved it. The terrain can be a little challenging at times, but not unpleasantly so. Challenge is good and keeps the mind alert! One of the farmers has a self-serve “kiosk” with all kinds of products from their farm and, of course, superb coffee, as typical for Switzerland. I thoroughly enjoyed this hike and only wish I had packed a nice picnic to linger in one of the breathtaking places we passed. Keep an eye on the boat schedule or you may get stuck hiking another 2.5 hours to Walenstadt. Sounds like fun, but maybe isn’t that much in the dark and with rocky ground.
