Concerns About Use of Insecticide at Chiarelli Bakery in August 2022 In August 2022, during my visit as a tourist, I witnessed a practice at the Chiarelli Bakery that particularly concerned me. My car was parked three feet away from the action, and I clearly saw what appeared to be the use of an insecticide on the fruit displayed outside the store. This manipulation was carried out by a person who I believe was the manager's son, given his young age. The immediate effect of the insecticide on the surrounding midges - their rapid escape - confirmed my suspicions about the nature of the substance used. I share this information not to accuse, but to express my concerns regarding food handling practices and their compliance with safety regulations. I advise potential customers to be vigilant and inform themselves about the food handling practices at Chiarelli Bakery. It is essential that all methods used to protect food products from insects are safe and comply with current regulations. By sharing this observation, I hope to help raise awareness and encourage improved food safety practices in our community.
