The Osteria del Fiore has opened its doors since last Saturday. During our first visit this evening, we quickly realized that with the new management we have found a very worthy successor to the Sottovoce that was previously there. Both the interior and the cozy garden in the backyard are lovingly and tastefully furnished. The service is attentive and very friendly. The drinks menu impresses with good beer and a very exciting wine list, with both regional and Italian. After four different starters (green salad, small Tome cheese bites, carrot and strawberry salad, Zuppa di Cetrioli) you can choose between a vegetarian main course (Polpette di finocchio) and finely carved Brasato, garnished with vegetables and accompanied by potatoes. Everything is organic and regional, prepared and prepared with finesse, taste and attention to detail. The whole thing is rounded off by two very tasty, fresh desserts (berry tiramisù and an apricot cake). The slow food idea is definitely not just a promise in words, but is also fulfilled on the plate and can be experienced on the palate. And all of this at very fair prices. While the concern of sustainability, which Beatriz and her team have taken on board, is always present, Piedmont should be even more noticeable on the plate. At least if you advertise Piedmontese cuisine. The potatoes, for example - as simple and unseasoned as if they had come straight from the garden - tasted absolutely enchanting, but the way they were prepared left the connection to the northern Italian region a bit open for us. So we left the Osteria del fiore full, satisfied and extremely pleased with the breath of fresh air - accompanied by the question of whether the label "Piedmontese" might not be necessary because it would unnecessarily restrict the great cuisine and instead "Italian" - like that Worn out and broad as the term may be - it would almost do better justice to the offer and certainly not raise false expectations? Dear team - congratulations on the successful opening of a caro benvenuto in the Wartstrasse neighborhood! We will definitely be back soon and are already looking forward to our next visit!
