At the urging of my colleagues, I ate at the Orientalisch Take Away Bern restaurant. The quality of the food wasn't very good but the service was quick. But there was something else important to me. The owner of the restaurant was a Syrian and Arab gentleman. I asked him, "Do you speak Kurdish?" because I heard that his daughter speaks Kurdish and I wanted to express myself better. But the restaurant owner was very disturbed by this question and asked me: "Is the whole world Kurdish?". This behavior made me very sad and offended. Because knowing or asking something in Kurdish is not a crime. On the contrary, it is the language of a very beautiful and rich culture. I would like to send a message to the restaurant owner: Please be more tolerant and understanding. Try to get to know other cultures. Treat your customers better. And above all: do not insult the Kurdish language. Because Kurdish is no worse or less good than your language. I don't plan on going to this restaurant again, but if you want to go, that's your business. By the way, not the whole world is Kurdish, but Kurds are everywhere in the world.
