For those of you looking to escape the hustle and bustle of packed tourist city of San Marco, Sant’Elena is the place to visit. While here be sure and visit the tiny cafe in the Marina, Ombrificio. With a changing menu everyday due to what’s caught by the local fishermen that morning and what’s available in the local market you are sure to always have the freshest of meals. If by chance they happen to have the grilled shrimp and potatoes or the crab salad take the opportunity and order that. Be aware their menu is hand written in Italian so if you know a little of the local language that helps as well. Don’t worry if can’t speak it, anything you point to on the menu or order is simply delicious. So, if you have a chance, venture out to the simple life and taste some simple amazing fresh food at Ombrificio in the Marina of Sant’Elena.
