NEW SHANG HAI, LJUBLJANA One of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited in Ljubljana. If you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine at an excellent price, New Shang Hai is definitely worth visiting. The buffet costs only €11.90, offering exceptional value with a wide selection of freshly prepared dishes. The variety is impressive: traditional Chinese dishes, delicious duck, fresh fish, seafood, beef, chicken, noodles, rice, vegetables and many other specialties. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. The restaurant's decoration reflects traditional Chinese culture, with dragons and elegant Asian design elements creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. After the meal I enjoyed a traditional Slivovica, which was the perfect way to end the evening and added a nice Balkan touch to the experience. The restaurant attracts guests from all over the world. During my visit I met people from China, the United States, India and many European countries. It is a truly international place where different cultures come together over good food. The only small suggestion for improvement would be that some members of the staff could speak a little more English, making communication even easier for international visitors. Apart from that, everyone was friendly, polite and welcoming. One detail caught my attention: the buffet price of €11.90. For those who enjoy biblical and symbolic meanings: 11 is often associated with transition, vision, responsibility and new beginnings after challenges. 90 is sometimes linked with wisdom, maturity and the completion of an important stage of life. Together, 11.90 can be seen as a symbolic reminder that every journey begins with a step forward and grows through experience, wisdom and gratitude. Whether viewed symbolically or simply as a great price, €11.90 represents outstanding value for the quality and variety offered. Thank you for the wonderful food and hospitality.
