Questo posto e il Hammering Man costituiscono entrambi un'attrattiva per i turisti. Qui potrai assaggiare ottimi insalata di cavolo, pollo e filetto americano. Molti critici rimarcano che in questo posto puoi mangiare un gelato veramente curatissimo. Deliziosi negroni, gin o vino sono tra le cose da bere migliori di questo pub & bar. Bellissimo Hotel proprio dietro la stazione FSS, posizionato benissimo per visitare la città, abbiamo soggiornato alla suite al sesto piano, meravigliosa, super comoda per chi ha almeno 2 bambini poiché gli ambienti possono essere separati da una porta scorrevole. Personale disponibile e possibilità di cenare in stanza ordinando delivery. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury

Disclaimer : I did not stay at the Nomad hotel, I only had the buffet breakfast there. The restaurant is spacious and the staff is polite and friendly. The items I liked most are the breads, the wonderful honey (100% unadulterated honey from a local producer), the croissants, the fresh butter, the hummus and the brie cheese which was very creamy and tasty. What I didn't like is that the fruit juices come out of a carton and that the coffee (though made by a proper espresso machine) was at the level commonly found in restaurants in Switzerland which is not great (they also don't have brown sugar). I will never understand why Basel - a city that has many Italians, Yugoslavs, Turks and Arabs who are famous for their great coffees can't upgrade its coffee culture but that is how it is. The price of the buffet (as of the 6th March 2025) is 28 CHF for hotel guests and 35 CHF for those not staying in the hotel. I think a 25% premium for non-guests is excessive and also not good for business. I wish to share a thought with the management at Nomad Hotel. If they charge the same price for everyone they will most probably not face a black Friday type stampede from bargain hunting locals so perhaps it is worth a try. P.S : Having received a detailed reply from Nomad I add the fifth star. The price of the breakfast buffet is very reasonable when compared with other offerings around town so I feel Nomad deserved 4.5 stars and I do not wish to reduce their overall rating. As for coffee - I stand by my assertion that a coffee culture is lacking in Basel and that this is also evident at Nomad. There is no need to buy from an Italian company and have coffee beans packaged and sent from warehouses on industrial estates. Just as ingredients are sourced locally so can coffee beans (they are technically a fruit) be bought from local distributors in small batches so they don't lose their freshness to grind on site and made with fresh milk for an optimal result. It will probably not happen in Basel during my lifetime as I have only another 30 to at most 40 years to live but one day it will!
