If you like bland ramen, come here. Worst ramen of my life. Ordered Shio / Seafood ramen and there is no taste at all, the most bland ramen in my life. Even seafood was not seasoned. Beer was good. Price per person: CHF 20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Namamen close to Bankverein in Basel has a clean and minimalistic interior. In typical Japanese style there are several places directly at the counter in front of the open kitchen. Besides, there is a good amount of tables in the room to eat alone, for 2 or in smaller groups. Starter & Main: I started with the Veggie Gyoza that comes in 5, deep fried, fresh and very delicious. As a main I chose the Togarashi soup (spicy Miso soup) as a base and the Chicken Ramen. That comes with Ramen Noodles, thin chicken slices, carrots, spring onions, Menma (bamboo strips), spinach leaves and an egg half. I have added on top an additional soy marinated egg half. The soup had a good spice level, the chicken slices were very juicy and the other ingredients added up well in freshness and taste. I would rate it a good and solid Ramen. If there would be something to complain, I could say, they could add a full egg (2 halves) already as a standard, but that's a minor thing and does not decrease the overall good quality. To add, they also have Udon or Soba as well as Japanese Tapas as alternative to Ramen. Dessert: I chose the "Sweet Fusion" that comes with one Mochi (different tastes of the day can be chosen, I took the echolocate-coconut flavor) and a Dorayaki, a warm Japanese pancake with Azuki beans. That dessert is a perfect finish to combine a cold and warm dessert. Once again, lovely taste, high quality food. To sum up, a great place to go for a relaxed atmosphere with great Japanese food.
