They changed name to ilMoffolettoso. Felt like we were, taken for a ride, ordered a sharing plate for 18€, and two glasses of house wine, no price list for drinks, but in Sicily can't be that bad, but end of meal, bill came down, no break down of food or drink, just a €35 bill. €8 a glass, two glasses more expensive than the food.!!!. With two friends I visited the wonderful city of Palermo for Easter Monday. Lunch time we walk along this street not far from the famous Vucciria and are intrigued by this small, apparently unpretentious place, deciding to stop for lunch. A big man dressed in green immediately set one of the tables for us and took our orders (even suggesting against his interests not to add some products in mine so as not to cover the flavours, which I appreciated). Fresh, genuine and even light ingredients. One of the best porchettas I've ever eaten, filled with pistachio cream, for me and 2 sandwiches with stracciatella, cheddar, vegetables, mortadella, etc. for my friends. Extremely abundant quantity, excellent quality and impeccable service (the big man dressed in green was constantly passing by the tables asking if they liked the food). Let's get to the bill: 3 mega sandwiches, drinks, and a common starter €23 (limoncello offered) so cheap that I thought he had made a mistake. Ultimately, if you are in Palermo and want to have a quick, quality lunch and want to be well served, this Mortadelleria is exactly for you.
