Pathetic ham & cheese panini. Hard and tasteless. Good salad bowl. Sandwich triple was 3 small rolls. Plain tortilla chips & dips disappointing. Extremely expensive for what you get. Waiters very friendly and efficient. Must be hard for them to serve this stuff. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CHF 30–40 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

This place is super budget. A budget panini (I think it was supposed to be carrot & Brie?) and a pint of Heineken cost about £26. The panini was honestly like something out of a budget canteen. Cardboard + magma. Budget experience. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CHF 20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We visited Montreux Jazz Café Express Départs in the Departures Hall at Geneva Airport before our flight, and it turned out to be an excellent place to relax and enjoy a proper meal away from the usual airport rush. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt calm, welcoming, and unhurried, which is not something you often find in an airport setting. The menu is well thought out and appealing, with a good balance of comfort food and lighter options. We ordered the pumpkin soup, and it was genuinely outstanding — rich, warming, and full of flavour. I have not had pumpkin soup of that quality in a long time, and it was especially comforting before travelling. The food arrived promptly and was clearly freshly prepared. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was polite, attentive, and genuinely considerate. Service felt natural and professional rather than rushed or mechanical, which made a big difference to the overall experience. We never felt pressured to finish quickly or leave, and it was refreshing to be able to sit, unwind, and enjoy the moment before boarding. The seating is comfortable, the space is well organised, and the overall ambience is relaxed and pleasant. It is a great place to reset, have a proper dinner, and rest before a flight, whether travelling alone or with company. Overall, this was a very positive experience. Good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and attentive service made our pre-flight time genuinely enjoyable. I would happily return on future trips through Geneva Airport and would recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and comfortable place to eat before flying.
