Monsù is a new fine dining restaurant in Taormina, located inside the elegant Hotel Palazzo Vecchio. Monsù is not just another restaurant in Sicily — it is a true culinary destination. I can confidently say it is the best restaurant in Taormina and one of the finest dining experiences I have had anywhere in the world. Each dish is a celebration of Sicilian ingredients, elevated with creativity and artistry while staying true to authentic flavors. Chef Giuseppe Privitera leads this gastronomic journey with vision and mastery. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed into an atmosphere of refinement where the service is impeccable — attentive without ever being intrusive. Special recognition goes to Armando Bucceri, Restaurant Manager, and Francesco Tizzone, Sommelier, whose professionalism, expertise, and gracious presence make the experience unforgettable. The evening began with a complimentary grouper (cernia) polpettina — perfectly cooked, delicately seasoned, and beautifully presented. The tartare di spigola was fresh and refined, while the maccheroni alla Norma was simply unbeatable, perhaps the best interpretation of this beloved Sicilian classic I have ever tasted. The meal concluded with a delightful surprise pre-dessert: an arancini-style crema pasticcera, a playful and delicious finale that perfectly captured the balance of tradition and innovation at Monsù. Every course at Monsù tells a story, blending the richness of Sicilian cuisine with a modern fine dining touch. For anyone visiting Taormina, Monsù is not just a restaurant — it is an essential experience, and without a doubt one of the top restaurants in Sicily.
