Restoran Mlinski Kamen, a peaceful beautiful gem along the Kupa not far from Petrinja. We visited all the way from Ventura California! After traveling for a few months and recently all over Albania, Montenegro and Croatia, this restaurant was like finding a diamond among trees, a river and trails. I loved sitting amongst farmlands and small villages. Easy drive from Petrinja and also from Sisak or Zagreb areas!! Parking is free and spacious. I feel that the guests from Zagreb would really enjoy the country setting. An outdoor deck with nice umbrellas and tables overlooks the River Kupa. The views are amazing!!Inside the restaurant is a really nice wooden warm feeling restaurant. Even a fire was burning in the corner. This interior would be so nice for a large dinner party or even a wedding. We were greeted by the nicest young woman. We made our decision to eat inside as it was chilly out on the deck. Even inside there is many nice large windows to enjoy the view of the river. Sitting by the warm fire was wonderful!Our server, Kaja, was so nice! Though her English was not real strong she was completely helpful explaining the menu. Our meals were perfect. Starting with a creamy mushroom soup and homemade bread. Then a green salad with the best feta cheese. Next came a large plate of grilled vegetables with added grilled potatoes. My husband also had an order of cevapi (the small order and it was huge!). All the menu items had VERY reasonable prices. This is definitely NOT an expensive restaurant. The value is very good. Easy to eat as a vegetarian and even vegan here with the vegetable dishes and salads. All foods were prepared with care and were perfect. We enjoyed everything we ordered. And to finish our yummy lunch, we had house-made Tiramisu. Oh my!!! It was so good. Restoran Mlinski Kamen really knows how to please their customers. Do not miss the opportunity to visit here and enjoy a wonderful experience. You will not be disappointed!!And tell Kaja the Hartmans from California sent you here because of her great service and the best food!!
