Best meal of our trip We visited Mlin Montanari on our second evening in Šibenik and honestly wished we'd come on the first night so we could have gone back again. The location is stunning - right on the waterfront, next to the cathedral, in a beautifully restored historic building. The interior has this perfect mix of rustic and elegant that just feels right. For food we had the monkfish wrapped in Parma ham and the pasticada with beef cheeks and gnocchi — both absolutely incredible. The bread with olive cheese and caper spread that came first set the tone perfectly. Simple ingredients, but prepared with real care and skill. The wine list is full of local Dalmatian varieties and the staff knew exactly what to recommend. Service was warm and attentive without being overly formal.
