We visited Menace Burger after seeing countless social media posts, which set our expectations quite high. Even before entering, we noticed a significant amount of trash on the ground around the restaurant. While this may not be entirely the owners’ fault, it is still something that should be addressed. Now to the food. We ordered a smashburger with loaded fries, a buffalo chicken burger, Nashville chicken tenders, as well as ranch sauce and menace sauce. On the positive side, the smashburger and the loaded fries were quite good. Martin’s potato rolls are already widely used and no longer a hidden gem, but in my opinion, they still pair perfectly with smashburgers. The loaded fries reminded me a tiny little bit of those from 7th Street in New York, although they do not reach that level, they were still quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, the rest was disappointing. The chicken is, in my opinion, a major letdown. The breading lacks seasoning and therefore flavor, and the chicken itself could definitely be juicier. The Nashville tenders have absolutely nothing in common with authentic Nashville hot chicken - I say this from experience, as I have actually been to Nashville. The buffalo chicken burger was also very poor. If you are looking for a proper buffalo chicken burger, you should definitely go to Kana in Zurich. The ranch sauce was particularly bad, while the menace sauce was decent at best. The restaurant itself was also quite dirty. It reminded me of a messy fast food spot on a busy night, with food and sauce all over the tables and chairs. The staff was not especially friendly, but also not unfriendly, and the food was served fairly quickly. And like many food spots in Zurich, totally overpriced. Overall, like many social media-driven hype spots, this place simply does not live up to expectations. There are far better options out there for both chicken and smashburgers. For Chicken, I would highly recommend Kana or Richie’s and for smashburgers Goody’s oder Huncho, all located in Zurich. I would not recommend Menace Burger.
